269; a race to remember. the day i rowed 22km in decent timing in choppy waters in a K1 and lived to tell the tale.

fyi that number is actually my canoe number for the race so yeah. anyway the national canoe marathon happened at lower seletar reservoir, where the 22km-ers have to round the reservoir three times. as each round is 7km. my original plan was to maintain a good pace for the first 2 rounds then whack the last round like mad. i did generally ok for the first 2 rounds and as i was preparing to whack...

well the choppy waters came. great timing huh? koff.

in restrospect, i shouldve whacked my (metaphorical) balls off for the first two rounds and for the last round since the waters were dead choppy and if i whacked the chances of capping were pretty high. well if you see T2s capping, you know that as a K1, your chances are not very good. shit, such horrible planning.

it was a good experience though. my thanks to the lovely boats that paced me. or rather, i paced them. rowing by yourself gets so lonely so id pick random boats to pace with. my thanks to MJC number 48 and 49 (kinda odd seeing guys rowing in pink K1s though), as well as that SRJC K2.

also id like to complain that the blue building is so bloody far away. and no matter how much/hard/far i row i dont seem to be getting nearer and it seems to futile that whenever i FINALLY get to portage im nearly crying with happiness. and btw, seeing shumin during my 2nd portage was like o.O woah im IP1 and nooby again hahaha xD. cant believe she still remembers me. (: but then again i for one never forgot her. i mean, how could i ever?

i like school. i like math. i like HCL. or rather theyre getting tolerable. (: we just got banded into bands for math, and im the loser class. which means that i get the best teachers and i escape having one Mr Lee for math. YESSS. im so glad that im stupid. (: im also in the loser class for HCL, and we get yang lao shi who is friggin nice and who occasionally uses english in HCL. PWNZ. so the only subjects im dying in now are chem and physics. instead of last year's chem, physics, HCL and math.
